It has come to our understamding that most people don’t follow trend on the past and present Inspector General of Police, abbreviated as IGP. Most of us are still thinking the present Inspector General of Police is Solomon Arase.. please the present Inspector General of Police IGP is Ibrahim Idris Kpotum not longer Solomon Arase.
For those who doesn’t know , The Inspector General of Police, shortened as IGP is the head of the Nigeria Police Force. Any body occuping this rank is the most senior officer in the police service. The ever first Inspector General of Police in Nigeria is Louis Edet who served from 1964 – 1966 before Kam Salem came in as a successor. Once the seat is vacent the next worthy serving officer is often recommended by the Nigeria Police Council to the President of Nigeria, who will send the name to the Senate for confirmation.
